 Al-Hatim Décor Ltd is a Nairobi-based interior design, turnkey fit-out, construction and project management company serving clients across Kenya, East Africa and project locations across Africa.

From commercial offices and international retail stores to hospitality spaces, residential interiors, custom joinery and specialist construction, we provide complete design-and-build solutions from concept to final handover.

Al-Hatim Décor has grown from humble beginnings into a multidisciplinary interior fit-out contractor in Kenya, combining creative interior design with technical construction expertise, modern technology, manufacturing capabilities and disciplined project management.

Today, our team works across interior design, retail fit-outs, office fit-outs, commercial interiors, hospitality projects, residential interiors, custom furniture, joinery, MEP coordination, construction and project management.

The Al-Hatim story began with the late Taher Mohsin, whose passion for transforming spaces developed from small residential improvement and decoration projects into a much larger vision. The business that became Al-Hatim Décor was formally established in 2007, beginning with residential makeovers before expanding into increasingly complex turnkey interior projects. The company's own history describes this progression from smaller projects into complete design-and-fit-out solutions. 

Working alongside the next generation, including Murtaza Taher, the company recognised an important gap in Kenya's construction and interior design industry. Clients often had to coordinate separate designers, contractors, furniture manufacturers, electricians, plumbers, technology providers and suppliers to complete one interior project.

Al-Hatim saw an opportunity to bring these disciplines together. Instead of handing clients a beautiful design and leaving them to figure out how to build it, we developed a turnkey interior fit-out model capable of taking responsibility for the entire project.

Al-Hatim's existing service offering already spans interior design, fit-out, MEP, technology systems, joinery, construction and project execution, giving the company a broad design-and-build capability. 

Retail fit-outs have become an important part of Al-Hatim Décor's experience.

Retail environments demand much more than attractive finishes. Contractors must understand international brand standards, mall regulations, shopfronts, display systems, lighting, electrical infrastructure, ceilings, flooring, signage, furniture, joinery, MEP coordination and extremely demanding opening schedules.

Al-Hatim Décor has delivered or been associated with projects for recognised local and international organisations and brands including LC Waikiki, Nike, Adidas, Puma, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, IIFCO and others. The company's published portfolio includes projects such as LC Waikiki at Two Rivers Mall and The Hub Mall, Nike, Johnson & Johnson and Merck. 

This experience has helped us develop the systems required for fast-track retail fit-outs in Nairobi and Kenya, where international specifications must be interpreted and executed within local construction environments.
